What is an SLP?

Speech-Language Pathologists

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work with individuals of all ages who have a variety of communication difficulties.

What kind of communication difficulties are treated?

Communication difficulties include but are not exclusive to articulation, language, apraxia, stuttering/fluency, voice and cognition. Cognition includes executive functioning, problem-solving, memory-delayed and immediate recall, sequencing, orientation, attention, etc. Executive functioning encompasses impulse control, emotional Control, flexible thinking, working memory, self-monitoring, planning/prioritizing, task initiation, and organization. These functions are highly interrelated, and the successful application of executive function skills requires them to operate in coordination with each other for appropriate self-regulation.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

What if I need to cancel?

Will my insurance cover my visit?

Are there discounts available?

No, at this point I do not take insurance. I want to be able to provide services to mild, moderate and severe communication difficulties. If the disability/delay is mild an individual may not qualify for services in school systems and insurance may not cover due to the disability being mild.

My private speech therapy is a small practice at this point so I have not learned about billing with insurance. If I were to work with insurances it would result in an increase in prices for clients without insurance as an option.

Speech Therapy sessions are normally $50/weekly session; however, if a client pays for a month at a time I will offer $175/month. Also if you refer a client I will provide $25 off a session (half off).

Who can I bring to therapy/evaluations?

May I run errands while my child is in therapy?

It would be difficult, but contact me and if I can, I will. Otherwise, I will schedule you as soon as possible.

Cancellation policy:

Notify me 24 hours in advance.

I understand children get sick and other life events occur. Make up sessions can be scheduled if available.

Cancellations that occur more than 24 hours in advance will not be charged. However, a cancellation less than 24 hours will be charged $25.

If there is frequent cancellation or failure to cancel an appointment three different times, I may choose to take your time slot off my schedule permanently.

Other children may be present. I shut the door to reduce distractions. I do have a another room to wait in as well as a toy room; however, children must be supervised at all times.
I ask that you please do not run errands during the 30-minute speech session. If an unexpected event occurs while running errands I do not have someone to watch your child once there session is over.
